I write about the Four Corners region, where I meet fascinating characters and find great material for stories—sometimes true, sometimes twisted enough to pass off as fiction. I have published popular articles in local, regional, and national magazines which have won awards from the New Mexico Press Women and Southwest Writers.

My first novel, The Cactus Plot, has garnered enthusiastic reviews. This environmental mystery won the New Mexico-Arizona Award for best cozy mystery and was a finalist in the Colorado Independent Publishers Association Mystery/Crime/Detective category. I am working on a sequel, bringing back favorite characters and introducing some surprising new ones.

My professional career consisted of originating and managing programs for adult learners at community colleges and universities in several western states. Since retiring, I am enjoying the freedom to write. I live with my husband and two spoiled cats in northwest New Mexico.
Growing up on a farm in upstate New York sparked my life-long interest in plants and animals. Here I am with my pet calf, Susie.

In addition to tapping words into a computer, I wander around outside, photographing the flora and fauna that reside in my “back yard” which I consider any place within a mile walk.
